Columbus, Neb., Feb. 25 - Albert Gerber, prominent farmer living near Duncan, was fatally injured by the explosion of a stick of dynamite in his hand yesterday while engaged in dynamiting ice and the Platte river wagon bridge south of Duncan. His right arm was blown off, his left arm mangled and his face cut. He was brought to St. Mary's hospital here on Union Pacific train No. 22 and which was stopped by special order. He died at 4:10 p.m. soon after arrival. He was forty-five years old and the father of six children.
