Viola D. Spears, 84, of Cashmere passed away Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Central Washington Hospital. She was born December 19, 1919 in the town of Blewett, to Frank and Nete (Sutton) Horey.
On May 5, 1940 she married Beve Spears at Cashmere. She operated a beauty shop in Cashmere for many years and later worked as a bookkeeper for B. T. Spears Construction of Cashmere. She loved to play golf, bridge and fish.
She was a world traveler, South America, Far East, Mediterranean Sea, Australia and New Zealand. She loved her travel trailer and Beve and her pulled their's from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to Alaska, crossed the United States coast to coast twice and crossed Canada coast to coast once. Viola spent many weeks at Cougar Inn on the beach with all her grandkids, playing her card games. She never missed a Mariner or Cougar game.
Viola was a member of the Orthopedic Guild, the Cashmere Woman's Club and the Leaven worth Golf Club. She had been a Rainbow Worthy Advisor and a Rainbow Mom.
Survivors include her husband Beve Spears of the family home; a daughter Linda (Terry) Luebeck of Orting; a son Tom (Linda) Spears of Cashmere; nine grand children; ten great grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cashmere First Methodist Church. If desired, memorials may be made to the Cashmere Aid Car Fund. Concluding services and the interment will follow in the Cashmere City Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Braun
