Obituary
Joseph Yarman

Died on the 27th inst Joseph Yarman aged 82 years. Mr. Yarman came to this part of Nebraska in its earliest settlement and went through all the struggles of pioneer life. He had born to him a large family of children most of whom live to mourn is loss. Mr. Yarman was a good neighbor, a kind husband and indulgent father and will be missed by the old settlers of this community when they again go on the round up.

Died at the home of his son Orlanda, on Monday, May 27, Joseph Yarmon, aged 82 years. Mr. Yarmon was one of the pioneers of Howard County, coming here from Ohio in 1873.

Joseph was found with his first wife Margaret
(born ca 1820 Pennsylvania) in the 1850 census in Portage, Hancock County, Ohio,
with daughters, Mary Ann, Martha, Eleanor and Isabelle. It is assumed Margaret
died in Ohio between 1845 and 1860, since Joseph was remarried by the 1860
census and the children by Margaret were still living with him.

Both the 1850 and 1860 census indicate Joseph was born in Ohio.
