Clayton, conducted by the Rev. Sandusky, pastor of the church. Burial was in
the Smellage Cemetery.
Mrs. Clayton was a daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Lindsey McCaleb. She was a
devoted member of the Methodist Church since childhood.
Survivors are her husband, the Rev. James R. Clayton and 6 daughters; Mrs.
Eva Duke, Granville, Mrs. Beulah Sechler, Wichita, KS, Mrs. Inell Anderson
of Ludlow, KY, Mrs. Beatrice Rodgers, Mrs. Ina Askew and Mrs. Irene Carr,
all of Detroit. Two stepdaughters, Mrs. Flora White, Durant, OK, Mr. Lena
Fisher, Morrison, TN; 2 stepsons, Kynett and Carter Clayton of Los Angeles,
CA; 36 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren & 1 sister, Mrs. Josie Bond of
Daylight, TN.
