COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Beatrice Rodgers, 79, of
1285 Meadow Road, Cookeville, were held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Byron Epps officiating. Burial was in the Rodgers Cemetery.
Mrs. Rodgers died Sunday (May 19, 1985) at Cookeville General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born September 22, 1905 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. James R. and Hattie McCaleb Clayton. She was a member of First Baptist Church
and the D.A.R.
Mrs. Rodgers was retired from teaching school in Oakland County, Michigan.
Her family includes her husband, Charles Clifford Rodgers; a son, Dr. Thomas Rodgers of Indiana; four sisters, Eva Duke of Granville; Inell Anderson of Kentucky, Ina Askew of Michigan and Irene Cart of Arizona; three
grandchildren, David, Stephen and Stacey Rodgers, all of Indiana.
Active pallbearers were Ron Gray, Jimmy Goodwin, Carlen
McBroom, David Rodgers, Stephen Rodgers and Geoffrey
Rodgers.
