She was born in the Oklahoma Territory to Hugh Dock and Catherine Belle Cobb. They move to Kentucky Town in a covered wagon when Eva was only a few months old. She was one of 12 children.

She eloped to marry Charlie 'Ray' Blakey on March 20, 1916 at the ages of 16 and 17, and was married for 73 years.

She had 4 daughters and 3 sons, 26 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
