MAURINE BLAKEY WILLIAMS
Our mother, Maurine Blakey Williams, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012.
"Rene" was born to Charlie Ray Blakey and Eva Cobb Aug. 3, 1923, near Whitewright.
She was a deeply religious and a sweetly kind-hearted person. She was retired from Gainesville State School and enjoyed quilting and reading and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, V. Cecil Williams; sisters, Geraldine Cole, Imogene Hunter, Georgia Rae Blakey and Joyce Bishop; brothers, Billy Pat and James; grandsons, David Liedtke and Tyler Cleveland; granddaughters, Barbi King and Briannon Cleveland; and son-in-law, Jim Liedtke.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara Liedtke, Lynn and Donna Wages, Julia and Hollie Gilbert, David and Sonja Williams, Lisa and Steve King, Mary Brannon and Kenneth Williams; brothers and wives, Ross and Ruth Blakey and Kenneth and Cathy Blakey; and sister and husband Jeanenne (Sug) and Jack Dyer. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren, who adoringly referred to her as "Grandma Great."
