Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Johnson, 83, will be held at the Colton Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson died Monday at her residence in Hartford. December 27, 1971.
Martha Schlieman was born February 22, 1888 in Grand Junction, Iowa. She moved to Hartford in 1906 and taught in the Hartford and Humbolt area. In 1917 she was married to Adolph Johnson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Mr. Johnson died in 1963. Survivors include two daughters Mrs. R.F. Hurd, Ventura, California and Mrs. T.R. Maursetter, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Four sons, Alton C. of Hartford, J. Enoch, of Belvidere, Illinois, Robert of Inglewood, California and Donald of Brookings, South Dakota. Brothers, John Schlieman, Spokane, Washington and Carl Schlieman of Salem, South Dakota and nine grandchildren. Prayer Service is scheduled 8 P.M. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home. Service of Interment: Colton Cemetery.
