DODGEVILLE
Sandra Lea (Hess) Cullen, age 39, of Dodgeville, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Sandy was born on July 26, 1969, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Frank and Janet (Pittz) Hess. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1987. She married the love of her life, Jason R. Cullen on June 17, 2000, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Ridgeway. Sandy worked for the Dodgeville School district as well as providing daycare for her nieces whom she dearly loved. Prior to this she was employed at Lands End in Dodgeville. Sandy's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. These times will be remembered by all of whom she touched. Sandy is survived by her husband, Jason; her two sons, Daniel A. Hess of Madison and Jackson R. Cullen. She is further survived by her parents, Frank and Janet Hess of Dodgeville; her sisters, Gerianne (Curt) Fellows of Dodgeville, Jody (Doug) Evans of Dodgeville, Kris (Ken) Spaulding of Wisconsin Rapids, Jean (Steve) Hilton of South Elgin, Ill.; a brother, Mark (Christine) Hess of Dodgeville; her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Cullen of Dodgeville; sisters-in-law, Julie (Todd) Martin of Dodgeville and Jean (Tim) Solberg of Ridgeway; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very special friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Lynn; a brother-in-law, Andy Quick; and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Father Paul Ugo Arinze will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY and AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
