ALICE ANN THOMAS DIED TODAY NEAR MARKTON Lifelong Resident of Section Succumbs at Age of 73 Following illness of 7 Weeks
Mrs. Alice Ann Thomas died in her home near Markton, Jefferson County, this morning at 1 o`clock at the age of 73 years, following an illness of the past seven weeks.
The deceased was born Mar 25, 1862, near Oliveburg, a daughter of the late A. B. and Hannah (Depp) Siverling. She was reared to young womanhood in the section and on May 19, 1883, was united in marriage to Godfrey Thomas. She was a member the United Brethren Church. Mrs. Thomas had spent her entire life in the section in which she died.
A good mother, kindly neighbor and an upright citizen, her death is sincerely mourned throughout the section in which she lived.
Surviving are her husband and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. John Atcheson, A. L. Thomas, Bert Thomas, Edward Thomas of Markton; Mrs. Harry Forrest of Panic; Mrs. John Durst and Florence Thomas, of New Castle. Two brothers, A. L. Siverling, of Punxsutawney, R. D.; C. B. Siverling, of Oliveburg, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Wachob, of Oliveburg, also survive.
Funeral services will be held in the late home Saturday afternoon at 2 o`clock with Interment in the Markton Cemetery.
