George Burt Thomas, 94, of Punxsutawney R.D. 5, died Monday, May, 27, 1985 at Jefferson Manor, Brookville.
Mr. Thomas was born October 29, 1890 in Markton, the son of Godfrey and Alice (Siverling) Thomas. He was married June 16, 1920 to Esther Shick, who preceded him in death October 18, 1966.
A retired farmer and veteran of World War I, Mr. Thomas attended Barton Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Anna Jane) Fairman of Punxsutawney R.D. 5; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Edward Thomas of Punxsutawney; and one sister, Ada Forrest of Brookville. In addition to his wife, he was preceded by a son, Robert Thomas, on November 9, 1944; one granddaughter, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Deeley Funeral Home of Punxsutawney. The Rev. Robert D. Bish will officiate. Interment will be in Markton Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
