Adam served during the Revolutionary War. In the Eighth Company of the Sixth Battalion of Lancaster County you can find serving with Captain Moyer, "Adam Heney", a Drummer, "Fred Heney", a Fifer, Second Sergeant "Stophel Heney" and in the 7th class "Stofel Heney" all in the year1777. Stophel or Stofel was used as a shorten version of Christophel. The Muster Rolls of Pennsylvania show that in 1787-83 In Northumberland County lived, Frederick, Stophel and Adam Haney. This area known as Haines Township became part of Centre County.

Tombstone says Adam Hennig born the 8th January 1757 Died the 4th of April 1838 age 81 years 2 monhts and 26 days. This tombstone is broken and part of th inscription is missing but probably said "Here Rests".
