OBITUARY
Isaac T Holland was born int Davidson County, Tennessee, February 21, 1832 and died near Sonora, Tuolumne County, California August 15, 1892, being at the time of his death 60 years, 6 months and 2 days. His father, Jacob Holland, was a soldier under Jackson in the War of 1812 and served with distinction in the war with Mexico, and during the was of the Rebellion, and died recently at the advanced age of 99 years.
At an early age, the subject of this sketch, with his parents, emigrated to northern Missouri. In 1853 he was married to Miss A M Daly who, with eight children, survive him. In 1858 with his wife and four children he left Missouri and came to California. The trip across the plains via of what was then known as Beal's route, was a memorable one, and after innumerable hardships the little party arrived at Saw Mill's Flat in Tuolumne County in January 1860. Since that time Mr Holland has resided in this county.
