He was born in Saarbrucken, Germany, August 17, 1859, and grew to manhood there. In 1882 he came to this country, locating first at Pittsburgh. Nine years later he came west to Dickinson, ND., where he was married to Emma Schwertfeger and lived there for three years. Then he came to this community and made his home here until his death.
He is survived by his aged wife and by a daughter and three sons: Theresa (Mrs. Edwin L. Brown) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Erick Keck, who lives at Doyon, N.D., and Henry A., Emil C. and Wm. F. Keck of Alexandria. Three children died in infancy. There are also ten grandchildren and he leaves a sister in Germany.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church; Rev. A. Bartz officiating. Burial was in Kinkead cemetery. The pallbearers were Barney Fisher, Reinhold Flesch, Otto Stanz, william Steinhorst, Otto Marxen and Carl Krohnfeldt.
