Age 27 years. Buried September 25, 1901. Named for her mother. Known as Bessie to her family was the eldest child of Mary E & O.W. Sommerville. Bessie never married. She lived with her sister Annie in Georgetown. Bessie was an examiner at the Bureau of Engraving. She died of consumption, followed 4 years later by her sister Annie of the same disease. Bessie was the daughter of a Civil War soldier.
