Christina ‘Tiny' DeWitt, 97, Gackle, N.D. died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at Wishek Home for the Aged, Wishek, N.D.
Christina Rose was born June 30, 1909, in Stutsman County near Gackle, the daughter of Konrad Sr. and Elizabeth (Remboldt) Remboldt. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew up on the family farm. She married Alvin DeWitt on March 21, 1936, at Alfred, N.D. They lived in Alfred until 1944 when they moved to Gackle. They began farming near Alfred in 1950. He died Aug. 6, 1972, and she continued to live in Gackle. She entered the Gackle Care Center, Gackle, in 2003. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Gackle.
She is survived by a daughter, Edris (Norman J.) Miller, Gackle; a sister-in-law, Erma Remboldt, Jamestown; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-granddaughters; and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers, Konrad Jr., Edward, Christ, Albert and Arthur "Archie;" six sisters, Lizzie, Pauline, Philipina, Lydia, Bertha and Helen; and a great-grandson.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Grace Baptist Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Timothy Blackman officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Thursday, Haut Funeral Home, Gackle.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial: Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle.
