A native of Montmorenci, he resided there until moving to Lafayette in 1929. He was married in 1890 [July 7, 1900] at Montmorenci to Myrtle E. Lake and was a signal maintenance and section foreman and flagman for the Nickel Plate Railroad for 50 years, retiring five years ago.
Surviving with the widow are three sons, William M., Francis M., and Ambrose C. Coffman, and a daughter, Mrs. Everett [Loretta] Booher, all of Lafayette.
