James Franklin Elder, 53 years old, of Union Star, died May 29, at St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born January 16, 1914, in Breckinridge County the son of F. W. Elder and Helen Maysey Elder.

Mr. Elder is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mayme (Hesler) Elder, four children, Mrs. Leon (Mary Franklin) Vessels, Pleasure Ridge Park, Mrs. Marvin (George Ann) Vessels, Richmond Virginia, Mrs. William (Reva Grace) Peters, Concordia, and Mrs. Bernard (Sue Helen) Fackler, Brandenburg, five sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mary George Pumphrey, Stephensport, Mrs. John (Ruby) Kullman and Mrs. Woodrow (Dorothy) Helser, both of Brandenburg, Mrs. Phillip (Mildred) Wells, Honey Brook, Penn, and Mrs. Richard (Edna) Thompson, Jr., Indianaopolis Ind; four brothers, Forrest Elder, Tell City, Ind., Robert Elder and Oscar Elder, both of Stephensport and Vernon Elder, United States Air Force, Athens Greece; also survived by ten grandchildren.

Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31st.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning June 1, from St. Theresa Church with Father Robert A. Brown officiating. Interment in church cemetery directed by Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Charlie Vessels, Paxton Vessels, Jake Fackler, Charlie Fackler, Joe Priest and Pat Kullman.
