Genevieve Freeman Anderson was, in a word, beautiful. She was a show-stopper. Born to James Davis Freeman and Parthena Prichard in Marietta, Oklahoma on 6 Mar 1921, she met her husband on a troop train during World War II. The couple made their home in Tillicum, Washington after the War, where 'Jerry' worked for lots of different companies, mainly as a stenographer. When her husband retired from his Civil Service job, they ran apartments, a dental business, and turned a century-old boathouse into a thriving fishing business, where children could learn to fish and families could spend quality time together. Genevieve adored her grandchildren, and entertained them with scary Halloween drawings and walks in the woods, where they were taught to look for mushroom circles (where elves might hold their nightly meetings), and many fun family picnics. She taught Sunday School at Tillicum Baptist Church for 40 years and is now home with her Lord and Savior, no doubt helping to weed His garden.
