F. E. "MANN' ALFORD, 95, OF Garretts Bend, Lincoln County, died July 24, 1989, at home after a long illness. He was a retired farmer. Surviving: daughters, Erma Wade of Griffithsville, Myrtle Green of Alum Creek, Frances Torman of Sod; son, Virgil of Holt, Mich.; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with the Rev. C.A. Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Samson Cemetery, Garretts Bend. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
