KATHERINE JUGENHEIMER

Mrs. John (Nee Mattes) Jugenheimer
Mrs. John Jugenheimer died suddenly at 8:30 PM Sunday evening, as she came from the yard to the house she was stricken with a heart attack. The husband was made aware of the situation upon hearing her scream and found her lying on the ground, still conscious. He carried her into the house, where she spoke a few words and died. The doctor, who was close by, could only confirm her death. As Mrs. Jugenheimer was close to her delivery date, Dr. Nauth attempted an operation to save her unborn child. The weak flame of life of the ten pound baby boy was extinguished shortly after he came into the world. Katharina Anna Mattes was born on October 23, 1871, and raised in the town of Schleswig. She married her surviving husband Mr. John Jugenheimer on April 26, 1902. Their marriage gave them three children, of which one has died. For many years she has had heart problems, which foretold the cause of her death. She had reached the age of 42 years, 3 months and 15 days. She is survived by her husband, two children, her mother, two sisters and one brother. The burial will take place on Wednesday afternoon, proceeding from the funeral home to the Rockville Cemetery. Pastor Rech officiating.
