Linton Harold Edenfield of Ringgold died Sunday, April 19, 2009. He was 78. He was born Dec. 31, 1930 to the late Linton Homer and Mary Jane Morgan Edenfield in Metter. He was an electrical engineer with Arnold Engineering Development Center in Tullahoma, Tenn., and later retired from Tennessee Industrial Army Ammunition Plant in Chattanooga, Tenn. Since retirement, he enjoyed gardening. He was affiliated with Bible Missionary Church. He was also preceded in death by his son, Louis Edenfield; grandson, Jonathan Shrum; sisters, Clarice Bird, Cleo Edenfield, Louise Elliott, Mae Cartee; brother, Elton Edenfield. Survivors include his devoted wife, Barbara Edenfield of Ringgold; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Lynne and David Shrum of Lexington, N.C., Susan and Mark Sparks of Easley, S.C.; sister, Betty Fordham of Kennesaw, Margaret Broadrick of Atlanta; grandson and spouse, Jason Lee and Rachel Shrum of Lexington, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Shrum. Services: Tuesday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Don Hart officiating. Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
