ANNA A. ALTIS

Anna Adkins, daughter of the late Rev. A.W. and Josephine Killingsworth Adkins, was born in Colorado August 5, 1915 and passed away in Springfield, Missouri May 21, 1996 at the age of 80 years, nine months and 16 days.

She graduated from Cabool High School and later was united in marriage to Roy Altis. To this union three children were born.

They lived in Cabool, Missouri until 1944, then moved to Salem until 1973 when they moved to Branson and lived until 1983. After traveling for several years they have lived in Springfield, Missouri since 1988.

She and Roy were in business in Salem and Branson.

As a young girl she united with the Church of the Brethren and at the time of her passing was a member of Good Shepherd Brethren Church in Springfield. She was a dedicated Christian lady.

A son J.D. has preceded her in passing in 1953. Besides her son, she has also been preceded by her parents and two brothers Earl and Kenneth.

She leaves her husband of 63 years Roy of the home in Springfield; two children Karen Sue Crandell and husband John of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Steven Altis and wife Virginia of Springfield; six grandchildren, Kent Crandell, Vickie Crandell, Dale Crandell, Jonett Freeman, Jennifer Altis and Christopher Altis; 2 great grandchildren, Michael Richards and John Crandell; two brothers Clifford Adkins of Midway City, California and Eugene Adkins of Vienna, Virginia; three sisters Leola Alexander and Phyllis Roberts of Cabool and Opal Miller of Minocqua, Wisconsin; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 1996 in Elliott-Gentry Chapel with Rev. Don Lucore officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery.
