Mr. Wiley Ainsworth, retired farmer and dairyman, was found dead at his barn in the Merit community last Thursday morning, October 19th. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Ainsworth's lifeless body was discovered by his wife who had only a few minutes prior left him at the barn where they had been milking cows. He was a native of Smith County but had resided in the Merit community most of his lifetime. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted by the Revs. Dewitt Mitchell and Herman Milner from Pleasant Valley Church on October 20 at 2:30 p. m. Interment was in Goodwater cemetery, with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home supervising arrangements.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Celia Ainsworth, Mendenhall two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Smith of Vicksburg and Mrs. B. R. Magee, Mendenhall; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Rice Ainsworth, Magee and Don Ainsworth, Jackson; six sisters, Mrs. Nora Duckworth, Mendenhall; Mrs. Ann Tullos, Magee; Mrs. C. T. Tullos, Columbia; Mrs. Fannie Wilson, Wanilla, Miss.; Mrs. Gladys Hopkins of Mendenhall and Mrs. Bradys Rich of Jackson.
