Eliza married John G. Pair (born February 1, 1862), in Taney County, Missouri. Their children were: Florence Ann, William Edmon, George Arthur, Hiram Augustus "Gus," Bessie, Bertha, Alma Celesta, & Hattie "Pat."

John had black hair, blue eyes, and red whiskers. He was very quiet, but was quick tempered. While in AR, he worked logging with the help of a team of oxen. He would pick up his little son, Bill, and set him between the horns on an ox's head, then drive the team down the mountain with the wagon loaded with logs.

John and Eliza moved from Arkansas to Indian Territory in 1892, accompanied by his mother, Minerva. He had two teams of mules and wagons. With these he hauled wheat from Paul's Valley to Caddo. He drove one team, and six year old Bill drove the other.

About one year later, they moved to Altoga, Collin Co, TX, where their son, Gus, was born. They returned to Oklahoma and lived on Pennington Creek in the Devil's Den area near Tishomingo. They also moved to the Wilburton-Hartshorns area for a time where John cut mine timbers and struts.

Eliza strived for cleanliness and always wore a stiffly starched apron, changing it every time she found a spot or stain. When anyone in the community was sick, they called on "Grandma Pair." She had a remedy for almost all ailments, using herbs and natural medicines. She was also a midwife.

John, age 51, died on February 10, 1913, in Caddo, Bryan Co, OK. His death was caused from an infection in his foot that developed into gangrene. It was amputated twice, but he failed to survive. He was buried in Gethesemane Cemetery located in Caddo. Eliza, age 76, died October 31, 1938, in Maytubby Springs (six miles west of Caddo), in the home of her son, Arthur. She was buried beside John.
