Ruth Haenftling Buckle, 82, of Coatesville, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Tel Hai Retirement Community.
Born in Accident, Md., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Prima Schlossnagel Haenftling and the wife of the late Michael Buckle, who died in April 2005 and with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.
Ruth was a life member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Coatesville.
She was a member of the former Caln Civic Club and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in Thorndale.
She is survived by her children, June M. Buckle of Timonium, Md., Michael A. "Buck" Buckle of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carol A. Buckle of Coatesville; her brother, Leo Haenftling and his wife, Louise, of Atwater, Ohio; her sister, Dorthea Thomas of Akron, Ohio; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Haenftling of Accident, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Ruth Ann Buckle; and brother, Earl Haenftling.
Ruth was a registered nurse. She served in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps, then worked at the former Coatesville Hospital, and for many years worked with Dr. Patukas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. at Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, where family and friends may call beginning at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in Ukrainian Cemetery, Coatesville.
