Mrs. Virginia Lee Floyd Tillman, 60, died Wednesday at her residence. The Bulloch County native was involved in many civic and cultural groups in Statesboro, including the Symphony, the Service League, the Civic Garden Club, the Bulloch County Historical Society and the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. Additionally, she has been active with the Bulloch County Medical Auxiliary, the Regional Library Board, the Board of Education, the American Colonists, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Georgia Health Decisions and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Statesboro.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Samuel P. Tillman, Statesboro; one daughter, Laura Tillman Hendley, Statesboro; two sons, Joseph Jerone Tillman and Lee Hilliard Tillman, both of Statesboro; her mother, Lavinia Hilliard Floyd; Statesboro; one brother, Dr. Waldo E. Floyd Jr., Macon; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Statesboro with Dr. Hugh Davis, the Rev. Fred Maddox, Dr. H. William Perry and Dr. Guy Hutcherson officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery. Smith-Tillman Mortuary.
