Mr. Orville "Cubby" Turner, age 77 of Pearson Chapel, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Turner was born December 14, 1931 in Jacksonville to Cody and Camilla Turner and had lived in Houston most of his life before retiring to Pearson Chapel in 1989. Mr. Turner was retired from Leedo's Cabinet Manufacturing in East Bernard, Texas and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Houston and a member of the Lovelady Masonic Lodge #539.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Joyce Alfred Turner, of Pearson Chapel; daughter Wanda Murray and husband Steve, of Houston; son Asa Turner and wife Veronica, of Houston; daughter Terri Lowman and husband Dean, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren Samantha Camp and husband Chuck, of Cedar Hill, Eric, Jacob and Jessica Turner, all of Houston; step-grandchildren Joe and Brittany Vanarsdale, of Houston, Cole and Bailey Lowman, of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-granddaughter Rylee Camp, of Cedar Hill; sister Peggy Copaus and husband C.A., of Kennard; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his son Orville Turner, Jr; parents Cody and Camella Turner; brothers Roy and Lloyd Turner; and sister Mae Laney.
Funeral Services for Mr. Orville "Cubby" Turner were held Monday, March 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Strength officiating. Interment followed in Creek Cemetery. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home
