Katie Maude Weeks, 89, a resident of Wenatchee for many years, died Wednesday evening, March 8, 1989, in Parkside Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 25, 1899, at Winnesbro, Texas, to Matt and Lizzie (Ziggler) Spencer. She was raised and educated in Texas and Arkansas and came to Wenatchee around 1944. She was active for many years in the Wenatchee Valley Baptist Church. She also belonged to the Wenatchee Steelhead Association.
Mrs. Weeks worked as an apple sorter for many years at Cascadian Fruit Shippers. She was preceded in death by four husbands, most recently Charlie Davis in 1971 and Marcus Weeks in 1982.
Survivors include her children, Francis L Smith of Coulee City, Paul A Smith of East Wenatchee, Hank Yarbrough of Wenatchee, Thelma Holdt of Wenatchee, Lynn Newell of Deer Park and Ann Seamon of Wenatchee; her stepchildren, Jim Davis of Evertt, Chuck Davis and Ernie Davis, both of Wenatchee; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
