former member of the New Hebron M.B. Church and a member of Mt. Olive M.B.
Church in Aberdeen.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Olive M.B. Church with the Rev. Curtis
Perry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial is
in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jean Ward and Lucille Ruff, both of
Aberdeen, and Lillie Simmons of Wren; five sons, Earlie Garth and Garfield
Garth, both of Aberdeen, Raymond Garth of Wren, George Garth Jr. of Chicago and
Sidney Garth of Memphis; one stepson, Tommy L. James of Detroit, Mich.; two
sisters, Lillie Mae Ward and Delia Jordan, both of Okolona; three brothers,
Walker Garth of Okolona, Robert Mohundrew of Aberdeen and John Thomas Mohundrew
of Memphis; 51 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 59 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will
lie in state at the church one hour before services.
