William Harrison "Hat" Hake, was the son of David and Dorothy Hake. He was the paternal grandson of John Frederick Hake and Catherina Crone. His maternal grandparents were Simon Hood and Louisa Bricker.

William was a mason and a carpenter. According to William's daughter Ella, he died in a Vashon Island nursing home. William's wife was Cordelia J. "Delia" Duesterhoeft. She was born on 14 February 1860 and died on 6 October 1922, at the age of 62, at the St. Helens Hospital, in Chehalis Washington. William and Cordelia were married on 26 December 1880, in Jefferson Wisconsin. The ceremony was performed by John F. Hake.
