Addie Bell Stidham Wayland, 85, of Columbia died Friday, Sept. 2, 1994, at Boone Hospital Center.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Parker Funeral Service with the Rev. Jed Angell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wayland was born Sept. 7, 1908, in Boone County to Adrian G. and Minnie Bell Alspaw Wayland. On Dec. 24, 1926, she married Ova Clay Wayland at the Boone County Courthouse in Columbia. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wayland lived in Columbia for 53 years after moving here from Sturgeon. She was a member of Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for more than 15 years. She was a past member of the Athens Rebekah Lodge. She graduated from Harrisburg High School and worked as a nurses' aide at Boone Hospital Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Sue Arnold of Columbia; a brother, Verdell Stidham of Harrisburg; three sisters, Leota Sword of Harrisburg; Minnie Hombs of New Franklin and Sylvia Riley of Sturgeon; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three sisters and a brother.
Memorials can be made to the Larry Joe Wayland Scholarship Fund in care of Boatmen's Bank.
