Around the last part of 1906 Zeura's parents moved the family to MO. They purchased an 83 acre farm, two miles east of Glensted, for $4000. Leonard took up farming, however, he was also a skilled carpenter and was often called upon to do work throughout the county.

Quincy Hays and Miss Zeura Self were married at the home of the brides parents Mr. and Mrs. Self, near Glensted, December 6, 1916, at 11 o'clock, Rev. T. F. Hanks officiating.
Only a few relatives and friends of the contracting parties were present. A splendid wedding dinner was served.
The groom is an industrious young farmer. The bride is a very popular and estimable young lady.
Mr. and Mrs. Hays went to St. Louis to spend a few days. Returning they will be at home to their friends on the Estelle DeVinna farm four miles northeast of Versailles. The Leader wishes Mr. and Mrs. Hays, a long, prosperous and happy married life."

Mrs. Zeura M. Hayse, 91, Sedalia, formerly of Versailles, died Thursday. Mrs. Hayse was born Aug. 3, 1882, at Corbin, Va., the daughter of Leonard and Ellen Counts Self. On Dec. 6, 1916, she was married to Quincy G. Hayse, who survives at the home. Other survivors include: A daughter, Mrs. Isla Bergman, Sedalia; two brothers, Gilmer Self, El Segundo, Calif., and Dallas Self, Syracuse; six grandchildren and one great0grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kidwell Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, near Barnett."

"Mrs. Zeura M. Hayse, 91, 507 West Fifth died Thursday. She was born Aug. 3, 1882, in Corbin (Coeburn), VA., daughter of the late Leonard and Ellen Counts (Counts) Self. On Dec. 6, 1916, she was married to Quincy G. Hayse, who survives of the home.
Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Isla Bergman, 507 West Fifth, formerly of Versailles; two brothers, Gilmer Self, El Segundo, Calif., Dallas Self, Syracuse, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery."
