EX-OREM RESIDENT DIES AT 67

Salt Lake City - Horace Rupert Ockey, 67, 596 W. 5900 S. Murray, died Friday in the Cottonwood Hospital. He was former resident of Orem and his son Kenneth Ockey resides in Orem.
He was born July 12, 1903, in Nephi, a son of John Jones and Emma LaRue Jerrett Ockey. He married Catherine Alice Llewellyn on Sept. 17, 1927, in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the LDS Church.
He was a painter and furnace tester and was employed by Hyrdo (sic) Plane Corp. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 184.
Survivors include his widow, Salt Lake City; two sons, Kenneth LeRoy Ockey, Orem; and William Ross Ockey, Salt Lake City; four daughters, Mrs. Val (Joyce) Baker, Mrs. Thomas (Fern) Booth, Granger; Mrs. Ronald (Darlene) Anderson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Ford, Bennion; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rulon Ockey, Fresno, Calif.; James R. and Calvin Ockey, Nephi; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Harris, Lynwood, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Redwood Memorial Estates Chapel, 6500 S. Redwood Road, where friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates.
