Charles Robert Wirey married Ruth Ann Trammel on June 18, 1949 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana and they were the parents of Robert Allen Wirey, Lou Ann (Wirey) Gibson, Charles Albert Wirey, Carl Eugene Wirey, Sharon Eve (Wirey) Ford, Julie Lynn (Wirey) Kendall Golliver, and Grace Marie (Wirey) Jones.

Charles Robert Wirey 79, of Indianapolis, died March 16, 2009.

Charles retired from Motor Fleet Service after 38 years of service and was a member of the Teamsters Local #135.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Hancock Wirey; daughters, Lou Ann Gibson, Julie Golliver, Grace Jones, Sharon Ford; sons, Robert, Charles, Carl Wirey; brothers, Jim, Richard Wirey; sister, Louise Crouch; 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Floral Park, with funeral services Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
