Merle E. Wirey rites Wednesday

Funeral services were Wednesday morning for Merle E. Wirey, 42, 4804 Bellingham East Drive, Valley Mills, in Conkle Lynhurst Funeral Home. Mr. Wirey died Saturday in St. Francis hospital after suffering a heart attack.

A lifelong resident of the Indianapolis area, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had been employed as a driver for Commercial Transport Company 14 years.

He is survived by the widow, Mary F. Wirey; a son, Mark E. Wirey; a daughter, Mrs. Judy H. DeLong; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Wirey; a sister, Mrs. Louise Crouch; three brothers, James A. Wirey Jr. and Richard Lee Wirey, all of Indianapolis, and Charles Robert Wirey, Camby; and three grandchildren.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services for Merle E. Wirey, 42, 4804 Bellingham Drive, a driver for Commercial Transport Inc., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Conkle Lynhurst Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Wirey, a Navy veteran of World War II, died of a heart attack Saturday in St. Francis Hospital.

A lifelong Indianapolis resident, he was a truck driver 14 years.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mary F. Wirey; a daughter, Mrs. Judy H. DeLong; a son, Mark E. Wirey; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Wirey; a sister, Mrs. Louise Crouch; three brothers, James A. Wirey Jr. and Richard L. Wirey, all of Indianapolis, and Charles R. Wirey of Camby, and three grandchildren.
