She attended school in Troy and graduated from Unity High School. Lucilla was employed by the civil service department driving staff cars at the Presque Isle military base during World War II.
She was predeceased by her husband, Merle, son Jerry Nichols, brothers, Frank Jr. and Leland Gerry.
Survivors include sons, Robin Nichols of Burnham, Wendell Nichols and his wife Pat of Canaan; granddaughters, Sandy Brown, Melissa Withee and her husband Gerald, Bell Krenisky and her husband Ron; grandsons, Dale Nichols, Donn Chamberlain and his friend, Michelle Stanley, and Kevin Chamberlain; 12 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Doris Nichols; sisters Ella Jones of Georgia, Beverly Thornton of Pittsfield; brothers, Kenneth Gerry of Florida, Alvan Gerry of Washington state and Albury Gerry of Pittsfield.
Spring burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan.
