Glen A. Pratt, 57, 614 11th Ave. SW, died suddenly Saturday evening of an apparent heart attack. He was stricken while at a local business establishment and was pronounced dead on arrival at Lutheran Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bruces Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dick Watkins, pastor of Riverside Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a graveside flag presentation by members of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Nora, seven sons and three daughters, Averial A. of Sac City, Marvin and Melvin both of Dayton, Gerald I, Donald E. and Glen A., Jr, all of Fort Dodge, James A., of Indio, Calif., Mrs. Robert Stoneburner and Mrs. George Ryan, both of Dayton, and Mrs. James Morris of Fort Dodge, 20 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lee Trask of Lehigh and Mrs. Cecil Widick of Stanhope.
Mr. Pratt was born at Duncombe and educated in the schools of that area. In 1925 he married Miss Nora West. They farmed near Lehigh until 1939 when they moved into Fort Dodge. During World War II he served in the Army. For about 15 years he worked as a body mechanic at Swaney Motors. Later for Hawkeye Motors and recently had been employed by R. B. Clark Motors.
He was a member of International Association of Machinists and the VFW.
