Henry J. Hanno, 72, of 802 South Phillips Ave, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon after an illness of seven months. He had been in the hospital for nearly two weeks. Mr. Hanno was born February 4, 1876, at Hinton, Ia., and lived at Remsen, Ia., where he was married to Sophie F. Seel on April 2, 1903. In 1911, they moved to Humboldt, S.D., where they lived for some time before moving to Hartford. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1930. Since that time he had been a paint contractor here. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Spindler, with whom he made his home in Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Burdette Allen, Renner; one son Glenn Hanno, Rt. 3, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, one sister, and six brothers, including Lewis Hanno, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at the Banton Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. G. A. Troemel will officiate at the services with Mrs. Miles F. Peck as organist and Elmer Taylor as soloist. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
