CAVE-IN KILLS
Lehigh - A Lehigh man was killed Tuesday when a ditch caved in while he and his son-in-law were digging a septic drain on the victim's property. Workers and an off-duty policeman were unable to save the life of 66 year old Victor L. Ruthart. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The rescuers were able to pull Ruthart's son-in-law, Gary Chapman of Fort Dodge, to safety. Chapman had been buried up to the waste (sic) by the cave-in.
