Helen L. Ellis
Mrs. Helen L. Ellis, 74, 1310 East VanTrees, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 5:40 a.m. Sunday after a two month illness. She had been in failing health for three years.
She was born in Odon, April 30, 1900, daughter of Josephus and Mary Isabelle (Hunter) Sears. She married John W. Ellis November 25, 1920 and he survives. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Seventh Day Adventists.
Also surviving are one son, William E. Ellis, San Simon, Arizona, two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Feller, Montgomery, Route 2, and Mrs. John (Mary) Pickett, Washington, Route 2; nine grandchildren and one brother and one sister, Vernon Sears and Mrs. Russell (Floy) Wadsworth, both of Odon. Seven brothers and three sisters have died.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the V. L. Poindexter Funeral Home where friends may call. The Rev. Albert Williams will officiate and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. (The Times Herald - Mon., Jan. 27, 1975)
