Minerva was the 6th child of Cynthia Hayden and Deacon Theophilus Humphrey, Jr. She had 16 siblings: Twins: Flora & Fanny F. (died of Scarlet Fever at 19 yrs), Lester Hayden, Theophilus Cornish, Cynthia, Tirzah, James Edwin, Maria, Marcus Cicero, Hiram Wolcott (died at 2 months old), Diana, Orpha, Electa Alvira (died at 16), Wolcott Julius, Homan Monson and Nelson Isaac.

She married Eli Merrill (spelled Elhi on cemetery records) and they had one child, Minerva.

Most likely Minerva died from childbirth, as she died 8 days after young Minerva was born.

Her husband was a school teacher and a farmer, he held town offices as well.
