Ruth Evelyn Perkins, 91, widow of Robert Coleman Perkins, went home to be with her Lord Fri. Jan. 2, after a brief illness. She was a native of Madison County and was the oldest of 12 children, however resided in Nicholasville for most of her adult life. She was a faithful Christian and member of the Nicholasville Christian Church where she enjoyed the Joy Class and CWF. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. Survivors include two children and their spouses, Carol Garland (Frank) of Nicholasville and Bobby Perkins (Carla) of Nicholasville as well as five grandchildren, Sherry Neergaard (Daryl) Brentwood TN, Dana Philpot (Jule) of Nicholasville, Brian Perkins (Terry), Nicholasville, Jason Perkins (Casey) of Lancaster, Mark Perkins of Lancaster, and Melody Perkins, Nicholasville. She also has several great-grandchildren, who were the love of her life, Corey Neergaard and Elijah, Hanna and Chase Philpot, Taylor Perkins, Emilie Stinnett, Cadin and Timothy Perkins, Austin and Peyton. She is survived by two brothers, Dairl Broaddus of Alabama and Daniel Broaddus of Lexington as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and a sister. Services will be 11 AM Tues., Jan. 6, at the Nicholasville Christian Church with Jeff Mandrell officiating. Pallbearers will be Frank Garland, Rod Ralston, Jule Philpot, Mark Perkins, Jason Perkins, and Gary Nelson Broaddus. Honorary bearers will be th Joy Class of the Nicholasville Christian Church. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Richmond Cemetery with graveside service to be at 1:30 PM Tuesday.
