Valparaiso -- Elaine Dye, 82, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001 at her home in Valparaiso. She was a retired teacher from Portage Schools, enjoyed volunteering, and was active in various organizations at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member. She is survived by one son, Gene (Joy) Dye of France; one daughter, Kathleen (John) Fischer of LaCrosse; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, Joe Dye, her parents, and three brothers preceded her in death.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, IN. Visitation Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Porter County or World Hunger Fund (via Trinity Lutheran Church).
