Mrs. Matilda Post Clark, widow of John Clark, died suddenly this morning at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. John Fort at No 34 Union Street, in the 83rd year of her age.
Mrs. Clark was born in Stillwater, Saratoga county, and at the age of 12 removed with her family to Baldwinsville, Onondaga county, where she resided until 33 years ago, when she came to Amsterdam and had ever since made her home here. In her earlier years she was an active member of the Baldwinsville M.E. church and was a consistent and devout Christian throughout her long and useful life.
Mrs. Clark leaves her two daughters, Mrs. James Pirie and Mrs. William Kilbourn, both of Amsterdam; five sons, Edwin R., John M., Frank W., and ex-Alderman George A Clark of this city, and Theodore H of Mechanicville, together with one brother, George Post, of Flint, Mich., and two sisters, Mrs. Abigail Heusted and Mrs. Martha Huntley of Mason, Mich. There also survive 32 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the house, No 34 Union Street, at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, the Rev. James M. Hutchinson officiating, and the interment will be made in Green Hill.
