Mrs. H.D. Fehrnebacher

Funeral services for Mrs. H. D. (Mary Estelle) Fehrenbacher were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday), in the John T. Frank Funeral Home with Harry Henson officiating. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fehrenbacher, 86, died at about midnight Friday, at the Flora Nursing Center.

Surviving are a son, Paul, of Fora; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hebron of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Arca Elkin and Mrs. Dollie Bickers, both of Dieterich; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Fehrenbacher, widow of Dr. H.D. Fehrenbacher, was born in Effingham, a daughter of Jospeh and Alice Gass. She was a charter member and past president of the Flora Garden Club, a state judge of the Illinois Garden Club, and the first State of Illinois Blue Star Marker Chairman. She was also a nationally accredited flower show judge holding a life certificate in the national organization. Mrs. Fehrenbacher was also active in various other organizations one of which included the Clay County Fair where she served as Superintendent of the Floriculture Division for many years.
