Bill resided in Chatham, Sangamon County, IL. He and his wife Reaka were the parents of John and George. It was originally thought that they were also parents of Carrie May who has been found to be the daughter of their son George E. and Emmy Hallberg Turner.

Bill was the 4th child of John O. and Amanda Laswell Turner and was the first of their children to be born in Bourbon County, Kansas. His siblings, before him, were born in Illinois. There were two children born after Bill.

TURNER--Remains of William Thomas Turner, of R.R.6 are at Hensley funeral home, Pleasant Plains, where friends may call. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at West Side Church of Christ. Rev. Ernest E. Laughlin officiating. burial in Oak Ridge cemetery.

William Thomas Turner, 86, of R.R.6, Springfield, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday in Memorial hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his wife in 1933 and a son, John, died six months ago.
He was a member of the West Side Church Christ.
Surviving are a son, ,George, with whom he resided; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The body is at the Hensley funeral home, Pleasant Plains. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday the West Side Church of Christ. Rev. Ernest E. Laughlin officiating. Burial will be Oak Ridge cemetery
