MRS. E. ROGERS DEAD.
Former Uniontown Lady Died At Norfolk, VA.; Funeral Thursday
Mrs. Esther Rodgers, aged 65, highly esteemed lady, formerly of Uniontown, Kas., passed away December 12 at Norfolk, Va., where she made her home with her son, L. J. Rodgers. She had been ill a long time.
Her body will arrive here Thursday morning over the Katy and the funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Valley M.E. church southwest of Uniontown. Burial will be in the Mason cemetery.
Mrs. Rodgers leaves three sons, L.J. of Norfolk, Earl Rodgers of Fort Scott, and J.A. Rodgers of Uniontown. She leaves also a brother in Illinois, two sisters, Mrs. John Ard of Elsmore, Kas., and Mrs. Onie Turner of Bronson, three half-sisters and a half-brother, namely, Mrs. Everett Nichols, Bronson; Mrs. Odie Pool, Bronson, Mrs. Ray Beaman Uniontown and Otto Turner, western Kansas.
Note: Rogers misspelled throughout.

RITES FOR MRS. ROGERS
Services For Norfolk, Va. Woman
Held at Rockford Valley Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Esther E. Rogers, of Norfolk, Va., and the mother of Earl Rogers of Fort Scott, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Rockford Valley M.E. church, conducted by the Rev. H.J. Sterling, and assisted by the Rev. Ray Kimbrough.
Rev. Kimbrough read a scripture lesson and offered a comforting prayer, and Rev. Sterling used the 23rd Psalm as the theme for his text. He eulogized her Christian character and devotion to her home and children.
Songs were "Beautiful River," "Sweet Hour of Prayer," and "Sweet Bye and Bye," and were sung by Mr. and Mrs. George Cowan, Myrtle Bryant, Earl Konantz, accompanied by Mrs. Guy Clark.
There was a beautiful array of flowers. The family piece was a block inscribed "Mother." The Rockford Valley M.E. church, the Holiness church and other churches, organizations and friends, also sent pieces.
Interment was in the Mason cemetery. Pallbearers were Mesdames G.D. Newell, R.M. Culbertson, W.S. Typer, Charles Mason, Walter Baptist, Gertie Smith.
Leonard Rogers, the son with whom Mrs. Rogers lived, accompanied the body here for the funeral.
