Update note: From the Baptismal Records: "Isaac Jones, African Ethiopian, now American, was born around the year 1755 and was baptized into the Catholic Church, December 23, 1847. Age uncertain but over 90 years of age according to statement given to Father Augustin Bally." (MBSC-book, page 65)

From the Death Registers: "On December 26, 1847, Isaac Jones died and was buried in the parish cemetery after being forified by the last rites of the Church. His age was 93 years and he served in the Revolutionary War in 1777." (MBSC-book, page 65)

The following taken from the "Reading Adler" under publication date of January 4, 1848 and insereted in the records: "Isaac Jones was born about the year 1754 and died December 27, 1847 at the age of 94 years. Isaac Jones saw service during the Revolutionary War against England in 1776 and served almost the duration of the war. After some period of service in the Contiental army, he lived for fifty years in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, earning his livelihood by sharpening the knives for cutting paper. Also was a wood sawyer." (MBSC-book, page 65)

During the latter years of his life he was afflicted with great pains, finally dying on December 27, 1847 at the house of Michael and Peter Mayer, being bedfast for three months and three days. During all this time he received the very best and kindest attention. (MBSC-book, page 65)

After being mustered out of the Continental army, he was entitled to receive a pension but someone for years had been drawing this pension for him but not apply it for his benefit so he spent his last short time on earth with Michael and Peter Mayer who gave him a home." (MBSC-book, page 65)
