Matthew Thomas Ervin was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Thomas Ervin, Sr. He became an ordained minister under the leadership of Rev. Harvey of Little Rock, AK. He served as pastor to several churches. He married Freddie Mae Burns on May 10, 1943. Five sons were born to this union. He was leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 55 years, Freddie Mae, his sons, Fred Thomas, Ernest Eugene, Robert James, Samuel Ervin, and Leon Ervin, his daughters from his first marriage Estella Steward, Delores Wade, and Marie Boyd, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many more.
